Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her highly laudable performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards and awards, among them the Oscar for her film Piano. Early on she began playing on stage for a number of Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. As a child, Helen Keller was her favorite character in a 5th year production. The mumps caused her to lose hearing in one her ear, however this didn't stop the actress from pursuing her dream. At college, she was a theatre student as well as later moving from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Hunter came across Beth Henley by chance in the lift. Together they composed Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The play was Hunter's first acting debut. As she relocated into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find film roles. The role of a supporting actress was found for Swing Shift. Her professional career spans over 30 years, and she's been featured in numerous TV shows or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
